Mi AIoT Router AX3600 overview
The Mi AIoT Router AX3600 is a Wi-Fi 6 router built for busy homes and offices that run many connected devices and Xiaomi smart gear. A Qualcomm six-core platform handles routing while a dedicated network processor keeps traffic moving smoothly under load.

Wireless performance
Both bands use IEEE 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6). The 2.4 GHz radio is 2×2 with a theoretical peak of 574 Mbps. The 5 GHz radio is 4×4 with a theoretical peak of 2402 Mbps. Together they deliver roughly 3 Gbps class wireless speed and can serve a large number of Wi-Fi 6 devices concurrently.
Antennas and AIoT
- 6 external high-gain antennas for dual-band coverage
- 1 external AIoT antenna to spot nearby Xiaomi devices and bring them onto the network for smart-home control
- Design that senses where clients are active and strengthens signal in those areas
Software and cooling
Runs Mi Wi-Fi ROM, an intelligent router OS based on a heavily customized OpenWRT build. Heat is managed through natural passive dissipation—no fan noise.
Security and management
- Encryption: WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK, WPA3-SAE
- Wireless access control with blacklist and whitelist, SSID hiding, and smart unauthorized-access prevention
- Network security: guest network, DoS protection, SPI firewall, IP and MAC binding and filtering
- Configuration through a web UI or mobile apps on Android and iOS
